Tasks and Responsibilities
Ropeway Mechatronics Technicians inspect and repair cableway systems and machinery. They also order materials and operate ticket counters for tourists. Ropeway Mechatronics Technicians ensure safe cableway operations. They monitor cableway systems, ski lifts, as well as pendulum, chair and gondola lifts. At the installations, they regularly check ropes, pulleys, drives, brakes, control systems and structural components. When necessary, they service system components and carry out repairs on mechanical or electrical devices.
To detect malfunctions, Ropeway Mechatronics Technicians read technical plans. They skillfully use hand tools such as chisels, saws, drills, lathes, countersinking and threading tools. They create connections between individual parts using screws, wedges, pins, rivets, as well as adhesives, soldering and welding, and verify their load-bearing capacity.
Mechatronics Technicians comply with regulations on occupational safety, health, environmental protection and quality assurance. Their work is often influenced by weather conditions and avalanche risk. They must be able to interpret avalanche bulletins correctly and, depending on the situation and instructions from the technical management, take necessary measures, such as evacuating passengers from a blocked cabin.
Ropeway Mechatronics Technicians also handle correspondence, write reports, and prepare damage reports. They order materials, manage payments and check delivery notes upon receipt of goods. At the ticket counter of cableway stations, they interact with guests from around the world, providing friendly and professional service.
