Chairlifts

Detachable chairlifts belong to the category of continuous ropeway systems. On an endlessly circulating haul rope, carriers with seats for one or more persons are attached at regular intervals. For smooth boarding and alighting at the stations, the vehicles are detached from the rope and their speed is appropriately reduced. The vehicles are then re-coupled to the haul rope and accelerated. Passengers are secured with a safety bar. Beneath the chair, footrests provide a convenient place for passengers to rest their skis or feet.
