On 27 September 2024, the new 8-seater gondola in the Yixing Bamboo Sea Park in China was officially approved by the authorities. The park is located in the southern mountains of Yixing in eastern China and is often referred to as the "Sea of Bamboo" as it is criss-crossed by dense bamboo forests and forms an emerald green landscape. This area is a popular tourist destination that harmoniously combines natural beauty, Zen spiritual culture, regional diversity, the world of ceramics and deep bamboo culture. It is regarded as a representative example of the unique bamboo landscape, the distinctive ambience of bamboo and the cultural significance of bamboo in China.
There are 25 gondolas in use, in design by Studio F. A. Porsche, which are spacious and comfortably equipped. The cable car not only improves transport links in the park, but is an attraction in its own right. With a height difference of 400 metres and a length of 1.4 kilometres, it allows visitors to enjoy the unique landscape to the full. The capacity is now 1,200 people per hour.
